US Retirement Rankings Reorder Familiar Favorites

A current study ranked all 50 US states for retirement using affordability, health care, safety, weather, community integration, crime affecting older adults, and senior resources.
Pennsylvania topped the ranking because of low senior crime, strong health care, and deep support options, showing beaches and sunshine were not the deciding factors.
Florida landed 44th overall. Its nation-leading senior safety score was outweighed by weaker health care and weather results in the study's weighted formula.
Unexpected top-10 finishers tended to pair balanced living costs, medical access, community connection, and practical senior services, instead of relying on taxes or warm climates.
For retirement planning, the main takeaway was to weigh health care access, local services, safety, and daily expenses alongside housing costs and taxes.
